This Privacy Policy explains how Plume Physics Uploader (the "App"), a private tool operated by Manatee Mayhem, a network of science and engineering YouTube Shorts channels ("we", "us"), accesses, uses, stores and deletes data obtained through Google APIs, including YouTube API Services. The App is used only by the channel owner to upload and manage YouTube Shorts on YouTube channels the owner controls, such as Plume Physics (@plumephysics). It has no third-party users.

1. YouTube API Services and Google

The App uses YouTube API Services. By using the App, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

2. Data we access

When the channel owner signs in with Google and grants permission, the App requests the following OAuth scopes and accesses the following data:

• youtube.upload: permission to upload video files to the authorized channel.
• youtube.force-ssl: the authorized channel's videos, playlists and video metadata (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, privacy status, scheduled publish times), so they can be managed.
• youtube.readonly: basic channel information (channel ID, title, thumbnails) and the list and details of the channel's own videos and playlists.
• yt-analytics.readonly: aggregated YouTube Analytics reports for the authorized channel's own videos, such as views, watch time, likes, comments and subscriber changes.

The App also stores the OAuth access and refresh tokens Google issues, so it can act on the authorized channel. The App does not access the data of any other YouTube user, does not use cookies or trackers, and does not collect any information from visitors to this website.

3. How we use the data

Data is used only to provide the App's user-facing features for the channel owner:

• uploading Shorts and setting or updating their metadata, thumbnails and publish schedule;
• listing and checking the status of the channel's own videos; and
• showing the channel owner how the channel's own videos perform.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent, transfer or share Google user data with anyone. The data is not disclosed to third parties, data brokers, advertising platforms or information resellers. The only exceptions are where required to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets with notice to the user. The only transfer of data is to Google itself, through the YouTube APIs, to perform the actions the channel owner requests.

5. Limited Use disclosure

Plume Physics Uploader's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

• Google user data is used only to provide or improve the App's user-facing features described above.
• Google user data is not transferred to others except as needed to provide those features, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
• Google user data is not used or transferred for serving advertisements, including retargeting, personalized or interest-based advertising.
• No human reads Google user data except with the user's affirmative consent for specific data, when needed for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or when the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations. Because the only user is the channel owner, in practice only the owner sees their own data.

6. Storage and security

OAuth tokens and any cached channel, video or analytics data are stored only on private systems controlled by the channel owner. They are protected with access controls and are not publicly reachable. Data is sent to and from Google only over encrypted HTTPS connections.

7. Retention and deletion

• OAuth tokens are kept only while the App is authorized, and are deleted when access is revoked or the App is no longer used.
• Cached YouTube API data (channel, video and analytics data) is kept only as long as needed to provide the App's features. It is refreshed or deleted within 30 days, in line with the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
• When authorization is revoked, all stored Google user data for that account is deleted within 7 days, except data we must keep by law.

You can ask for deletion of any stored data at any time by emailing hello@manateemayhem.com. We will delete it within 7 days and confirm by email.

8. Revoking access

You can revoke the App's access to your Google account at any time from the Google security settings page at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. After you revoke access, the App can no longer reach your YouTube data, and stored data is deleted as described in section 7.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
